It's been a goal of mine for a few years now to create a video series based on 11 Points and I'm thrilled to announce that day has finally arrived.
Today, I'm presenting a sneak preview of one of the three pilot episodes we filmed of 11 Points Countdown -- a web show where a rotating group of co-hosts join me to count down (and joke/argue about) the results of pop culture surveys. (For those of you who voted in the survey I posted about the best Valentine's Day gifts and best new 2011-12 TV shows, this is what those were for.)
We're putting out the sneak preview of this pilot episode today because it was Valentine's Day themed -- so I couldn't really debut it in a few weeks. This isn't a Treehouse of Horror episode airing in November after all.
So, without any more exposition, please check out the 11 Best Valentine's Day Gifts with my first co-host, G4 and FearNet's Angie Greenup.
And now, to answer a few questions. Eleven, specifically -- so that this isn't the first time ever posting a non-11-item list on this website...
Yes, there will be more episodes soon. We have a few pilot episodes left and will be airing at least one video a week once the series officially begins (this is just a sneak preview).
No, this won't replace the writing on 11 Points. I will still have the same level and quantity of written content as before. This is just more, new, different content.
Yes, I will do a better job publicizing the voting for future episodes.
Yes, my face is flushed in the video. This was the third episode we filmed and I got hot. Also, I'm horrifically un-tan.
Yes, we really were drinking, even though we filmed this at approximately 10 a.m. while the bar was still closed.
No, it's not a laugh track, that's the crew and a few friends in the audience participating.
Yes, I will do a better job in the future not holding the cue cards in front of my face.
No, we didn't know the survey results ahead of time. I had one of the producers tabulate the results and write them on the cards. I wanted everything to be improvised and spontaneous.
Yes, there are a lot of little things I plan to tweak in the show but, in general, I was thrilled at how well our pilot shoot went.
Yes, you can come hang out at a future taping. In fact, I'm really hoping some people want to do that. More details will come once the show is officially rolling.
Yes, I have very high hopes for this.
