A cathartic computer, Walmart sign for fools and Canadian town with an unfortunate slogan.

Welcome to the new edition of the Best Picture I Saw This Week…

Second runner up: Dude, you’re getting a Dell

A guy in Colorado Springs, Colorado had been “fighting with his computer for the last several months”; earlier this week, it finally pushed him too far. So he took it out into a back alley and unloaded eight bullets into it. He successfully killed the computer — and was arrested for discharging a firearm within city limits.

I chose the picture not because it’s visually stunning — it isn’t — but because it’s a cathartic embodiment of something everyone’s wanted to do at some point.

First runner up: One hour photo

This is a real sign from a real Walmart that strikes every possible chord. It’s condescending. It’s dated (developing photos?). It assumes people are idiots. It must be there because people complained, so maybe they are idiots. Just a great sign all around. All it’s missing is a typo — like that “your” being spelled “you’re.”

The winner!

The small town of Tisdale, Saskatchewan, Canada has been going with the above slogan for more than 60 years. They’re referring to “rapeseed,” which is used to make canola oil — but still. This sign finally made the news this week as the town announced they’re reconsidering their slogan. (The people in the town, however, say they want to keep the slogan as it is.)
