Second runner up: Testing their pashents
A 30-year-old man in Salem, Ohio missed a probation meeting a few weeks ago, so he faxed over a doctor's note as an excuse. The court had many reasons to suspect it was a fake ("brot" for "brought," "pashents" for "patients," and that signature all stand out) -- not the least of which is its unsettling legibility.
First runner up: Pride
Just think of how many people in Canada (turns out it's England's sign for the World Cup in Canada) had to approve that slogan before it became official. And not a single one questioned it.
At the risk of this weekly post turning into a celebration primarily of animals riding other animals (I had a raccoon riding an alligator two weeks ago), what could be more apropos for July 4th weekend than America's symbol being written by... uh... Hey, look over there!
