11 Picks for NFL Week 11, Cowboys at Redskins

I'm tempted almost every week to make everyone here pick an NFC East versus NFC East game. Today, it happens. Romo's back, Portis is probably out, this one is a real tough one to call. Let's see how my 11 different football predictors parse this one out.
The line is Washington -2.5, but we're just going to pick the game straight up.

Accuscore. (3-7 on the season) Usually on games where the line is so close, Accuscore's computer models check in around 50-50. Not this week. It strongly favors the Cowboys on the road here, 60 percent to 39 percent. And, like always, one percent has gone missing.
Accuscore really likes the Cowboys, surprisingly enough.- Former NFL star Eric Allen. (4-6) Allen continues his Cal Ripken-like streak of just picking whatever team is favored, even by the slightest margin. He's naturally going with the Redskins. Next year I'm finding a more ballsy ex-NFL player. Allen is straight chalk. If Allen was doing an NCAA pool, his Final Four would be the four number one seeds, guaranteed. And the only upset he'd pick would be a nine seed beating an eight.
- Random number generator. (4-6) I use Random.org's coin flipper, with the system heads for home team, tails for away. This week it came up heads, so the random pick goes to the Redskins.
- Homeless guy outside my office. (5-5) This week he likes Redskins. I mentioned to him that back in week 1 he picked the Cowboys. That didn't even phase him. He's so cool.
Battle of the mascots. (7-3) Ah yes, cowboys versus Indians. A classic. And it's hard to say who won. So for this battle, I'm not going to debate lassos versus tomahawks or something like that. I'm going to look at some numbers. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are about 9,500 cowboys left in the U.S. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are about four million American Indians. Guess they win. Going with the Redskins.
The Redskins outnumber the Cowboys, and numbers win.- Adam, the early '90s fan. (6-4) "Tough one. Both of these teams JUST won the Super Bowl. But the Redskins seem to be on the way down and the Cowboys, with Aikman, Smith, Irvin and Leon Lett, really seem to be on the way up. The Redskins are a good team, but I've got to lean toward the Cowboys."
- Fatter offensive line. (5-5) The Redskins barely average 300 pounds per offensive lineman, at 1,502 total pounds. The Cowboys dominate them, with a total weight of 1,637. Huge mismatch here, goes to the Cowboys.
- A model who may or may not know football. (7-3) "Dallas Cowboys- its my home team!!!!!!" And she believes it six exclamation points worth. That's hardcore.
- Just picking the home team. (5-5) I figured this method would even out, if not slightly lean toward the positive. It clawed its way back to .500 last week; this week, it, naturally, going with the Redskins.
- "Sports Illustrated" legend Peter King. (8-2) My master plan to use this space to make fun of Peter King's antiquated understanding of football (and life) has backfired tremendously... he is in sole possession of first place out of the 11 methods here. (And I'm in a two-way tie for last place.)
This week, he likes the Cowboys winning with Romo back, 30 to 23. - My pick. (3-7) I am extremely torn here. I've been riding my belief that the Redskins are really solid for a while now... but with Jason Campbell at quarterback and someone other than Clinton Portis at running back, it's hard to have a lot of confidence in them. For the Cowboys, having Romo back may just be the push they need. I'm going Cowboys.
