11 Word Reviews of 11 New Fall TV Comedies - 2012 Edition
written by Sam Greenspan

Last year, I did a list of 11 Word Reviews of 11 New Fall TV Shows. I really enjoyed the challenge of coming up with something I thought was illustrative, informative and at least a little bit funny in just 11 words. In the end, I was really happy with how it turned out.

Most people absolutely hated it.

So, by my twisted personal code, that meant I had to do it again.

For another project I'm working on, I watched at least one episode of every single new network show for the fall 2012 TV season. And I figured I could re-appropriate that effort into a new edition of 11-word TV reviews.

Here are 11-word reviews of the 11 new fall 2012 TV comedies and sitcoms, ranked from worst to best. As with last year, I couldn't squeeze in my usual pink highlights without making it look too cluttered. Unlike last year... maybe people will enjoy it more this time around?

  1. No one reading this website watched this show.
Guys With Kids (NBC) - I kept expecting Anthony Anderson to blink "SOS" in Morse Code.

  2. Malibu Country (ABC) - Never watched Reba's previous sitcom but this must be identical, right?

  3. Partners (CBS) - Your typically average CBS sitcom (just missing obese husband, Chuck Lorre).

  4. The New Normal (NBC) - Merely having a character spout offensive cliches doesn't make you edgy.

  5. Emily Owens, M.D. (The CW) - Hospitals? Just like high schools! Or so the characters say incessantly.

  6. The Neighbors (ABC) - It's 2012. Can't believe "neighborhood of wacky aliens" show's on television.

  7. Mockingbird Lane (NBC) - Supposed to be a series, turned into one-time special. Ouch.

  8. I blurred the animals from Animal Practice to keep it enjoyable.
The Mindy Project (FOX) - Like Whitney -- star/creator seems to be working out her insecurities.

  9. Go On (NBC) - Tiny flashes of Community… but mostly just continues post-Friends curse.

  10. Animal Practice (NBC) - Surprisingly good when animals aren't onscreen. But when they are… yikes.

  11. Ben and Kate (FOX) - Funniest new comedy of 2012 by FAR. Doesn't have a prayer.
