11 Word Reviews of 11 New Fall TV Dramas - 2012 Edition
written by Sam Greenspan

Yesterday I posted 11 word reviews of 11 new fall 2012 TV comedies. Today it's the same thing, but for the new network dramas.

I ended up watching at least one episode of all of these for another project. Otherwise no, I would not have watched most of them. But there were some definite surprises. Time well wasted, I guess.

Here are 11 word reviews of the 11 new fall 2012 TV dramas. The shows are ranked from worst to best. (And none of my usual pink highlights, for clutter's sake.)

  1. Nashville.
Nashville (ABC) - FNL fans'll loyally follow Connie Britton anywhere. This: Their ultimate test.

  2. Made In Jersey (CBS) - America's "Jersey" phenomenon peaked in 2010. This didn't ignite second wave.

  3. 666 Park Avenue (ABC) - Every character has sexy (or devilish) secret. Yet all inspire indifference.

  4. The Mob Doctor (FOX) - People love mafia dramas! And medical dramas! Not this mashup, though.

  5. Last Resort (ABC) - Premise unclear, so needed characters to suck viewers in. They didn't.

  6. Vegas (CBS) - Period drama in 1960s Vegas. Meh. But perfect for CBS demographic.

  7. Tale as old as time?
Beauty and the Beast (The CW) - Don't be a Gaston. I'm still shocked it wasn't that bad.

  8. Revolution (NBC) - Liked what I saw... but unwatched episodes piling up on DVR.

  9. Chicago Fire (NBC) - Totally by-the-numbers, but at least had good tension, action.

  10. Arrow (The CW) - Ignore how it gloms onto archery mania. Superhero show with potential.

  11. Elementary (CBS) - Angelina Jolie's ex, Lucy Liu solve crimes. Procedural with character development?
